Island-Wide Positive Parenting Drive Strengthens Saint Lucia Families & Fights Crime

09/08/2025

📅 From 1 November 2023 to 31 March 2024, Saint Lucia is rallying families island-wide to curb crime by fortifying home life. The six-month Positive Parenting Drive zeroes in on deep-rooted risk factors—like inconsistent discipline and unaddressed trauma—to build safer, more cohesive communities. 🏡💪

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Spearheaded by the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice & Empowerment under its broader Crime & Violence Interruption Programme (CVIP), the new Parenting Coaching Campaign is CVIP’s third, power-packed pillar. The mission: equip caregivers with evidence-based tools so families can thrive, ultimately driving crime rates down. 🎯✨

Lyncia Antione, serving the Anse La Raye–Canaries district, stresses confidence-building: “Our sessions show parents how to grow competent, resilient kids who believe in themselves.” 🚀
